Weekly Text Study and Prayer Group
We meet at 9:45am on Tuesdays to discuss the upcoming Sunday’s scripture readings. It’s a chance to dwell with the text early in the week and helps us prepare for worship together. Sometimes we stay on topic and sometimes a tangent wins our attention and we all wonder together about something new.
Then we pray. We offer personal concerns and thanks, but also the needs of the church, community and world. You are welcome to join us anytime! For questions or more information, contact the church office.
Sunday Morning Learning & Sharing
Forums are held on the first Sunday of each month. These educational events include spiritual discussions and presentations from our partners in ministry. If you have an idea for a Sunday forum, contact the church office or a member of the learning committee.
“Connections” is a thematic Bible study on the third Sunday of the month. We look at themes that reoccur throughout scripture, discovering how God’s story threads itself throughout history and into our own lives today, too. Themes include creation, water, recovery, inclusivity, failure, hope, and more. Sometimes this looks like a traditional Bible study and sometimes it’s a more devotional or active approach using props or small groups. Come anytime or make a habit of this series all year long!
Both Forums and “Connections” meet in the Fireside Room at 11:15am after worship. Bring your coffee and cookie – and invite others to join, too.
Education for Children & Youth
Zion partners with 6 other congregations to provide a quality Summer Day Camp experience for kids age 4 through grade 6. Summer 2012 will be hosted at SpringHouse Ministry Center (28th and Garfield) during the third week in June. Day Camp includes music, worship, Bible study, games, field trips, craft activities, and a healthy lunch. Kids have a blast and youth love to volunteer as helpers. This year's theme is Splash! and we'll be having lots of fun with water. Stay tuned for opportunities to register, donate, or participate as a volunteer!
We are a member congregation of Luther Park Bible Camp in Danbury, WI. Zion offers prayer and financial support to our children and youth who participate in their summer ministry.
At Zion we offer Sunday school classes and confirmation. Our Sunday school teachers use Spark curriculum that helps connect Sunday school to the readings we hear in worship. If you have questions about or interest in confirmation, contact Pastor Meta or a member of the Learning Committee.
